Grange Judo Club Gradings

Grange Judo Club held their gradings on January26th and 27th 2007. Over 37 children and adults took part and all done well. Amongst those taking part was Craig Saunders, who was attempting to go for his Junior 1st Dan (Black belt). I thought it would be a good idea to have a guest examiner down for the occasion. Jack and I decided to invite Sensei Danny Murphy 5th Dan BJA and an old friend of ours down. Danny acuatly started his Judo career with Grange Judo Club many (to many to remember!) years ago. Danny has gone on to become an excellent Judo player and coach. His fighting skills has taken him to 3 silver medels in the World Masters tournament and commonwealth Masters champion. For his Junior 1st Dan, Craig had to perform the Nage-No-Kata, a series if 15throws done both right and left handed, a line up against 5 players and basicly everey thow in the syllabus to a high standard. I am pleased to say that Craig passed with flying colours. I think that even Danny was supprised at his performance. Below are some of the photo's from the grading. More will follow when Jack downloads them!
